The Elusive Key
I am not sure how to describe how excited I am about my latest curated group exhibition, The Elusive Key, opening on Saturday, March 15th at Gristle Art Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. The artists have gone above and beyond to come up with some amazing new works, some of which are either already sold or have interested buyers – because who wouldn’t want these gorgeous works in their homes?
The Elusive Key was named for the rumor that Houdini’s wife snuck him a key in a kiss that allowed him to open handcuffs that “could not be picked by mortal man,” but I told the artists that they could choose any aspect of Houdini’s life to interpret. Some went for the specific theme, however a few decided to explore Houdini’s strong attempts to defrock false mediums who fooled many people out of their money into thinking they could talk to the dead. Yet others interpreted other aspects of Houdini’s legacy.

You can see the entire show online here (we are still receiving finished works, so there is yet more than what you see on there now). Many of the works are below for your viewing pleasure.
There will be an artists’ reception on the 15th from 6-9pm at Gristle Tattoo and Art Gallery located at 178 N 8th Street in Brooklyn, NY.
If you are interested in making a purchase or have any questions, please call 347.889.6422 or email info AT gristletattoo DOT com.
Don’t assume that you can’t afford to purchase the artwork here. Some of it is expensive, but some of the works are not. If you need advice about collecting, please send me a note and we’ll arrange a meeting or a phone call!
