Anagnorisis Picks | Time is the Enemy

Philadelphia is most definitely one of my favorite cities with its old buildings and art-centric culture.  In December, before the holidays took a tight hold of my brain, I took a trip down to the city to visit what will likely be the Toothless Cat Gallery’s last exhibit.  If this rumor is true, this show was quite a way to go out with a bang.  The work of Jeremy Hush (who will be exhibiting at the White Rabbit in March) and JoKa made for an interesting juxtaposition.  The artwork of the two artists surprisingly fits very well together even though their styles are quite contrasting.

If you missed this show at the Cat, there’s another show coming down soon with Hush’s work at Masthead Gallery called Time is the Enemy. A three-artist show with Paul Romano and Mike Wohlberg, it consists entirely of screen printing work. You can still catch it before it closes on Feb 3rd.  I highly recommend going to  the closing party scheduled to take place this coming Saturday night.  Location details are in the flyer below.  Visit the Masthead Gallery‘s website for more info.

Speaking of Paul Romano, I’m horribly behind in publishing pictures from my visit to his studio. It’s quite a fantastic set of images and I can’t wait to show them to you! Soon, I promise! Here’s a teaser:
